Beautiful gardens with a wide variety of plants. Large green houses to find plants to take home to your own garden. $5 for parking that you pay for using a QR code. Drive slowly on the road back to the parking area because there are wandering visitors and a garden cat that may cross the path.

This was amazing. A bit of walking but the tour of the bog garden and the experience of our guide was perfect. Mr. Stevens helped us understand the differences between a bog garden, a fen, and others. While we are not quite ready to build ours he helped us pick out plants, discussed watering techniques and future ways we can incorporate it into our backyard. This place is amazing for taking photos, seeing so many different plants and purchasing it. Plus the history is nice too.

I love visiting gardens and this is one of the best! Bogs, ponds, waterfalls, rock gardens, meandering shaded paths, fields, etc. You won't see anything like this anywhere else. A MUST see for all in NC and beyond. Visit during Plant Delights open house days in spring to see even more plants and buy some very unique plants to take home.

My friend and I visited this eclectic garden on one of their Open Garden and Nursey Days Weekend. They only have a handful of weekends they are open to the public with no appointment necessary and $5.00 general parking (these were easy-to-follow directions for both entering and exiting). This was a perfect outing as spring approaches, and the weather was gorgeous. Even though it was a weekend open to the public, I didn't feel overcrowded walking through the garden spaces. At a mosey pace, we spent probably a solid hour and a half exploring the open gardens and walking through the greenhouses. One can easily spend more or less time depending on how much browsing you do or decide to picnic. I really appreciated the labeling tags they had with QR codes that said what the different plants were. The staff was friendly and engaging in sharing more about plants or helping people with questions. No actual bathrooms, so I did become a little more diligent in how much I was hydrating! Overall, this was such a gem of an activity - it's great for a solo outing, a couple's date, or family/friend hangout.
